Dr. Rains believes "medical care is a partnership between a patient and a physician. Each must do his part to succeed." He regularly treats hypertension, diabetes, headaches, asthma, GERD, and many other ailments in his practice. He also regularly performs diabetic foot care, toenail care, skin lesion biopsies, and skin tag removal.

For 10 years after receiving his medical degree, Dr. Rains served in the United States Army Medical Corps. While in the Army, he served as the Chairman of the Family Advocacy Committe and as the Chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee. He then went into private practice, and has practiced in the Inland Empire since 1991.

In his spare time, Dr. Rains enjoys music, computer games, spending time with his son and camping in their motorhome.
