Marie Nielsen is a compassionate, Certified Physician Assistant with extensive primary care experience spanning both Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. She joins RYMG having most recently practiced alongside Dr. Nancy Lin at the Inland Empire Optum clinic in Redlands, where she also completed additional Leadership Training and co-leads the Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Council.

Marie began her career in medicine more than two decades ago in private-practice pediatrics before earning her credentials as a Physician Assistant. Since 2005 she has practiced under the supervision of respected physicians across Family Practice and Internal Medicine, building a deep and versatile clinical skill set. Her experience includes well-women exams and gynecological screening, minor surgical procedures such as lesion and cyst removals, suturing and wound care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, radiology and laboratory ordering and interpretation, and preventive medicine and health screenings for patients of all ages. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a telemedicine provider, offering patients testing, treatment, and education.

Marie earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University in Pomona, California, following a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Her dedication to patient care has been recognized with Optum’s Living Our Values Award for Compassion.
